WORKSHOPS

Workshops

The design, engineering and construction of industrial plants involves a multi disciplinary team effort. The goal is to design safe and dependable processing facilities in a cost effective manner. The fact is that there are very few formal training programs that focus on design and engineering of Electrical systems of such big plants. Therefore, most of the required skills are acquired while on the job, reducing productivity and efficiency. Workshop participates get industrial exposure inside the campus itself and need not waste time after campus days.

The fortunes of the heavy electrical industry have been closely linked to the development of the power sector in India. The heavy electrical industry has under its purview power generation, transmission, distribution and utilization equipments. These include turbo generators, boilers, turbines, transformers, switchgears and other allied items. These electrical equipments (transformers, switchgears, etc) are used by almost all the sectors. Some of the major areas where these are used include power generation projects, petrochemical, refineries , chemical plants, integrated steel plants, non-ferrous metal units, etc.

The objective of this course is to provide the delegates the basic knowledge and skills in this discipline to facilitate faster learning curves while on the job.

Topics to be Covered in Workshop • Introduction To EPC Sector • Design Task And Introduction To Various Phases Of Project • Introduction Of Key Electrical Equipments And Their Abbreviations / Technical Names Used In Projects • Preparations Of Electrical Load Schedule • Preparations Of Single Line Diagram(LT & HT) • Preparation Of Control Schematics • System Studies And Calculation • Selection Of Transformers • Selection Of Generators • Selection Of Motors  Pumps Etc • Protection For Transformers, • Protection For Generators, Motors Pumps Etc • Cable Types • Cable Selection For Transformers, • Cable Selection For Generators • Cable Selection for Motors And Pumps. • Selection Of Bus Bar • Selection And Sizing Of Electrical Equipments Used In Various Projects • Sizing And Selection Of L V Switchgears (MCB,MCCB, RCB, RCBO MPCB) • Calculation of load on circuit • Design of sub circuit (Lighting Circuit and Power Circuit) • Distribution of Power Circuit • Selection Of Capacitor Banks Used For Power Factor Correction. • Earthing /Grounding conductor selection • Communication CCTV Systems • Overview Of Codes & Standards (National & International)
The duration of this workshop will be two consecutive days, with eight hour session each day in a total of sixteen hours properly divided into theory and hands on sessions. Date Schedule:- 28th Mar and 29th Mar 2015, 18th April and 19th April 2015
• Certificate of Merit for all the workshop participants from Global Institute For Design Engineering. • At the end of this workshop, a small competition will be organized among the participating students and winners will be awarded with a ‘Certificate of Excellence’. • Certificate of Coordination for the coordinators of the campus workshops
For Campus Workshops Rs. 1686/- (inclusive of all Taxes) per participant. Other Workshops fee vary from time, place of venue etc. * This fee include workshop training, study material, tool Kit, certification, government taxes and other human resources charges.

What our students say
